Pageantry and Hoosier pride filled the Indiana University Bloomington campus during Homecoming Week 2025. The festivities hit full stride on Oct. 17, when the annual parade set off from 17th Street and Woodlawn Avenue, featuring the Marching Hundred, student organizations, alumni groups and IU's bison mascot, Hoosier. The parade wrapped up with a spirited pep rally and carnival in Dunn Meadow.
Festivities culminated the next day at Merchants Bank Field at Memorial Stadium, where the No. 3 Hoosiers defeated Michigan State 38-13 to remain unbeaten – marking IU's first consecutive wins against the Spartans since 1969 and keeping the Old Brass Spittoon in Bloomington.
This year's celebration carried special meaning for the IU community: with more than 805,000 living alumni worldwide – including nearly 417,000 in Indiana – IU now boasts the nation’s largest alumni network. That global Hoosier family was on full display throughout Homecoming Week, uniting generations of alumni and students in a shared celebration of undaunted spirit and tradition.
